Vitiligo is a
skin disease caused due to lack of a blood cell called melanin. Melanin is
source of protecting your skin from Ultra violet rays and brings colour to our
skin. When our body lacks nutrition then our blood cells have deficiency of
melanin, which causes Vitiligo. Vitiligo is condition of skin where skin starts
to de-colour in form of patches in some or most parts of body. This is also
called de-pigmentation of skin. It starts with a little de-colouration and
fading of skin, then grows paler, and finally ends up making that patch
completely white. Vitiligo mostly does not bind itself with any age or gender
and is common among teenagers as well as elderly.

Symptoms of
Vitiligo:
There are no
symptoms observed for Vitiligo else than differentiation in appearance of skin.
Many have tough reported to have suffered headache, nausea and burn at the
patch of de-pigmentation but these symptoms are yet to be verified.
The most
prominent symptom of Vitiligo is that when a person is lacking melanin in their
blood, de-colouration of skin starts to appear. This de-pigmentation is
sometimes started with a single patch being discoloured and is later gotten to
be paler. De-pigmentation of skin is prolonged until that particular patch is
totally white. Sometimes Vitiligo is observed in symmetrical order being
visible in similar places all over the body, while in other cases it only
limits its self to a single portion and doesn’t spread further.
Vitiligo is a
permanent skin condition and is hardly curable. When Vitiligo spreads it can
discolour your hairs all over the body and turning you completely white. It is
mostly prominent in people with dark shades of skin.

People try many different options to cure
Vitiligo but mostly it is incurable. The process of de-pigmentation can slow
down for a while and even can stop in young people and teenagers with help of
latest technological equipments and cure.
Many prefer to
go for a UV ray treatment, which is a specific ointment is applied and then
body is exposed to UV rays lamp under medical observation. This process helps body to reproduce melanin
in blood cells and can slow down process of de-pigmentation. Others go for
cosmetic surgery to hide the effects of Vitiligo.
